Rugby Physiotherapy & Contact Injury Recovery
Contact trauma, shoulder and neck injuries, and the return-to-contact decision.
Rugby injuries divide into contact trauma and accumulated load. The first group (shoulder dislocations and subluxations, AC joint injuries, neck strains, knee ligament damage) needs accurate early diagnosis and a structured rebuild. The second group (hip and groin pain, calf and hamstring problems, low back pain) builds quietly across a season and responds to load management.
Returning to contact is a different decision from returning to running. A shoulder that is pain-free in the gym is not the same as a shoulder that can take a tackle at pace, and that distinction is where rehabilitation is most often cut short.
