Running Injury Physiotherapy in Johannesburg

Runner's knee, ITB syndrome, Achilles tendinopathy and shin pain, with gait retraining.

Almost every running injury is a load problem wearing the disguise of a tissue problem. Runner's knee, ITB syndrome, Achilles tendinopathy, shin pain and plantar heel pain are overwhelmingly driven by how quickly training volume changed, how the runner's mechanics distribute force, and where strength is missing up the chain.

Treating the painful structure alone is why these injuries recur. A knee in a runner rarely originates at the knee: hip strength, foot mechanics, cadence and weekly load all contribute, and the assessment has to look at all of them.
