Kinesiology Taping & Athletic Event Strapping

Taping does two different jobs, and conflating them is why it is often used badly. Rigid strapping restricts a specific unwanted movement: it is what goes on an unstable ankle before a match, or a thumb that needs protecting for ninety minutes. Kinesiology tape does something quite different, providing proprioceptive feedback and a modest reduction in pain perception while leaving the joint free to move.

Both are genuinely useful and both are short-term tools. Neither strengthens anything, and tape applied over a problem that needs loading simply delays the work. Used correctly, taping lets an athlete compete or train through a phase of rehabilitation that would otherwise cost them weeks.

At this practice taping is applied for competition and event cover, for the return-to-sport phase where confidence in a joint lags behind its actual capacity, and for acute injuries where offloading a structure for a few days accelerates settling. You will also be shown how to apply it yourself where that makes sense, rather than needing an appointment before every fixture.

Event strapping is available for clubs and schools on match days by arrangement.

Not sure this is what you need? The first appointment is an assessment. You will get an accurate diagnosis and an honest plan, even if that plan is a referral elsewhere. Call 076 174 9656 or book online.
