Biomechanical Assessments for Athletes
A biomechanical assessment answers a question that pain-focused examination cannot: how does this athlete actually move under the loads their sport applies, and where does the chain break down?
It is the service most often used by athletes who are not currently injured but keep getting injured, and by those returning from a problem that has recurred more than once. It is also the foundation of a return-to-play decision.
The assessment covers strength measured objectively and compared side to side, range of motion passively and actively with bilateral comparison, movement quality through the patterns your sport demands (running, landing, squatting, reaching, rotating), endurance and capacity under repeated load, and the sport-specific demands of your position or event. Where relevant it includes running gait, and the equipment interface that shapes it: shoes for runners, cleat position and saddle height for cyclists.
You receive your numbers, an explanation of which ones matter for you, and a programme addressing the deficits found. For athletes mid-rehabilitation, those numbers become the criteria that decide when you progress and when you are cleared, rather than a date on a calendar.
Not sure this is what you need? The first appointment is an assessment. You will get an accurate diagnosis and an honest plan, even if that plan is a referral elsewhere. Call 076 174 9656 or book online.
